Week 4 1&2

Today we focussed more on using visual effects for our images if we were interested in using this type of technique. This is to help show more depth or help our video look more effective. Jason also talked about some video techniques and using premiere pro. We slightly added things to our video and also slightly changed our idea and the story board.

We also filmed on this day just to get an idea of how to shoot some of our scenes and to get started on after effects.





Class 2

We went over our footage with Gray and Jason and it was mostly good feedback but their was still something missing in our footages. We also went over our story board and was given more ideas

Week 3.2

Todays class we had a session about Priemere pro. Learning on how to use it and the main parts which is colour correcting, colour grading, colour theory, colour philosophy. We also learnt about techniques to do our audio and how to record audio.

We showed what we have been filming to Gray and his feedback was to keep filming and use our footage that we have to create a storyboard instead.


What we need to work on for next class is to keep filming.

Week 3.1


On Mondays class we presented our story board to half of the class to get feedback before we started filming. Most of the feedback was good but we could work on some shots and really have the narrator to be really persuasive. Our storyboard/ video is basically parody, We have a character that is really just using our product for all the wrong and some good reasons as our narrator is really persuasive and serious about the product. Most people agreed with this idea so we went on to trying to figure out a way to make this work.

The other half of the session was learning the different types of cameras and techniques and also the different types of microphones to record audio.

Week 2.1



the competitive market we put together for our product and we it could possibly place. This was done for homework before this class.















In this class we pitched our idea to Jason. He liked the idea and gave good feedback on how we could make this video good. We talked about our idea being either a parody or a serious video. We are going to go with parody just because we came up with some good ideas for the dialogue.

The above images of our storyboard is the idea we are going to go with for our video but now  after the talk with jason we are going to change up the middle scenes to make it a parody and think of places to film and camera angles by fridays class.

Week 1.2 Homework

So after brainstorming and talking about it, we came to the decision to change our idea once again to what we call 'ilense' and apple product that alows you to take photos through a contact lens for your eyes. 


Here is a quick sketch (need to view sideways) of our storyboard for class tomorrow.




Some ideas of what our product would look like and also video animations that we would like to do and look for our video of persuasion. These 2 moodboards plus a A3 size of the story board will be ready and printed for tomorrows class 2.1

Week 1.2

For Fridays class we watched a lot of videos and focused on the whole persuasion side and gather ideas on what we could do for ours. Just before the end of class we ended up changing the idea of using jandals to going deeper and going towards raising awareness for child abuse through selling a stress ball that could possible speak to you.

The idea around raising awareness in the video was to bring in the product of a stress ball and make it speak to you in a funny way so it changes the emotion of anger to laughter. 

Week 1.1 Homework

We came together with a team of 3 (Matt, Malaki & Ash) and started brainstorming ideas for our video. We also researched videos that we liked and could talk about for the 2nd class. Researched crowd sources to find inspirations for our video. We came up with the idea of focusing on something to do with the Pacific. Ideas that came along was to focus on an object that pacific islanders use day to day and we thought of jandals and how we could redefine it.







Some ideas from facebook to get the ball rolling by asking the people out there how to make a jandal more eye catching and better to buy by upgrading them somehow and these were some answers from people. 

Week 1.1

First class we got introduced into the brief of Video/Persuasion.
Throughout the class we got into groups to watch videos and come together to discuss what the video shows and if it has persuaded us.
